Terms of use
Foreword is made by Floppy LLC. By using the app you agree to these terms and to Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement. Apple's EULA covers your license to the app itself. These terms cover Foreword's services, such as rendering audio and your subscription. If the two ever conflict about the app license, Apple's EULA controls.
Who can use Foreword
You must be at least 13 years old to use Foreword. If you're under 18, use it with a parent or guardian's permission.
Your content
Your story, recordings and lines are yours. You give us only the limited permission needed to make the results you ask for, for example sending text to a speech provider to produce audio. You're responsible for what you create; don't use the app to make anything unlawful or that infringes someone else's rights.
Your voice
Record only your own voice. Don't upload or record anyone else's voice, and don't use Foreword to imitate another person. Loops in your voice are for your own personal use.
Generated content
Foreword uses AI services to suggest lines, titles and audio. Suggestions can be wrong, odd or not what you meant. Read and edit them before relying on them. You decide what to keep, and you're responsible for how you use and share what you create.
Our content
The app, its design, its built-in voices and its text belong to Floppy LLC or its licensors. You get a personal, non-transferable license to use the app under Apple's EULA. Don't copy, resell or redistribute the app or its built-in content. Audio made with the built-in voices is for your personal use.
Acceptable use
Don't misuse the app or its services: no trying to get around plan limits, reverse engineering our services, overloading them, or using them to create content that is unlawful, hateful, sexual, or meant to harass someone. We may limit or suspend access to paid features, or stop providing the app to you, if these terms are broken.
Subscriptions
Foreword Premium is an auto-renewing subscription billed through your Apple Account, monthly or yearly, each with a 7-day free trial. It renews unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the period ends; manage or cancel anytime in your Apple Account settings. Prices are shown in the app before you subscribe.
Cancelling turns off the next renewal. Your access continues to the end of the period you've already paid for, then expires. Because purchases are Apple transactions, refunds are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com under Apple's policy.
What Foreword is, and isn't
Foreword is a practice for attention and intention: affirmations, journaling and repetition. It is not medical, psychological or financial advice, and it makes no guarantees about outcomes. If you're struggling, please reach out to a qualified professional. If you're in crisis, call or text 988 in the US, or your local emergency number.
Fair use of generated audio
Voice loops have a monthly allowance, shown in the app. We may adjust allowances to keep the service sustainable; loops you've already made stay yours.
Changes to the app and these terms
We may change or discontinue features. If we change these terms, we'll update the date above, and if the change is significant we'll tell you in the app. Continuing to use Foreword after a change means you accept the updated terms.
Warranty and liability
Foreword is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, and without any promise that it will be uninterrupted or error-free. To the maximum extent the law allows, Floppy LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for lost data, and our total liability for anything arising from the app is limited to the greater of what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim or $50. Some places don't allow some of these limits, so they may not all apply to you.
Your responsibility
If someone makes a claim against Floppy LLC because of content you created with Foreword or because you broke these terms, you agree to cover our reasonable costs from that claim.
Disputes and governing law
If you have a problem, email us first at hello@goforeword.app and we'll try to sort it out within 30 days. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California. Any dispute we can't resolve together will be handled in the state or federal courts in Santa Clara County, California, and you and we agree to those courts, except where the law where you live gives you rights that can't be waived.
General
If any part of these terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies. If we don't enforce a term right away, we can still enforce it later. These terms and Apple's EULA are the whole agreement between you and Floppy LLC about the app. You can't transfer your rights under these terms; we may transfer ours if Floppy LLC is sold or merged.
