Foreword vs Aya

Choose Aya if you want an AI “dream self” to talk to you each day. Choose Foreword if you want to write the words yourself and hear them on a loop, in your own voice, with no model of your voice kept.

We make Foreword, so treat this as a maker's comparison, but an honest one. Below is what Aya does well, where Foreword is different, and how to pick. Details about Aya are as of October 2026, from its App Store page, version history and reviews; anything we could not confirm says so. Features and pricing change often, so check each app's current listing before you decide.

What Aya does well

Aya launched in April 2026 and has a 4.8 rating from about 3,200 reviews. An AI “dream self” voice talks to you each day, with episodes for waking and for sleep, a vision board and gratitude. In August 2026 it added voice cloning, offline listening and a widget. One reviewer says it “truly helps me visualize my manifestations so much better.” It also claims support for 125 languages.

Where Foreword is different

Foreword keeps you as the author: you write the desire, and AI never writes it for you. It also handles your voice differently. Foreword doesn't keep a model of your voice. Your sample stays on your phone and in your iCloud; each time a loop is made in your voice, the sample and the words are sent to a third-party AI voice service for that one reading, and the service is set not to keep them. Around the loop sit scripting, the 369 method and morning pages, for $29.99 a year in the US.

It also stays honest by design: no ads, no account, no tracking, and copy that never promises the universe on a schedule. The methods people search for are built in, the 369 method and scripting, alongside spoken loops and morning pages, and the free tier is meant to be lived in.

Common questions

Does Aya clone your voice? Yes. As of October 2026, Aya offers an AI clone of your voice, added in version 1.5.0. Its listing does not say which provider makes the clone or where it is kept.

What happens to my voice sample in Foreword? It stays on your phone and in your iCloud until you delete it. Each loop in your voice is made from it for that one reading by a third-party AI voice service, which is set not to keep it. We don't keep a model of your voice.

How do the prices compare? Aya lists $9.99 a week, $29.95 a month or $149.99 a year. Foreword is free to use, with Premium at $5.99 a month or $29.99 a year in the US after 7 days free.
